Remembering Pope Francis

Eternal Rest Grant Unto Him, O Lord

 Remembering Pope Francis
(Jorge Mario Bergoglio)
1936 – 2025

Amidst the joy of Easter, the Church mourns the passing of His Holiness, Pope Francis, Vicar of Christ and Sovereign Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church.

We humbly commend his soul to the infinite mercy of almighty God, with hope in the resurrection, that he may find eternal peace in the glorious company of the saints. While we mourn his death, we also give thanks for his life and pontificate. We pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit upon the College of Cardinals, that they may, in their wisdom, elect a worthy successor to the Chair of St. Peter, one who will faithfully lead the Church in truth and unity.

Let us Pray:
O God, Who in your wondrous providence chose your servant Pope Francis to preside over your Church, grant, we pray, that, having served as the Vicar of your Son on earth, he may be welcomed by him into eternal glory. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.

In the coming days we will provide further information about upcoming Masses and times of prayer said for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis.

“Faith is born of an encounter with the living God Who calls us and reveals his love, a love which precedes us and upon which we can lean for security and for building our lives. Transformed by this love, we gain fresh vision, new eyes to see; we realize that it contains a great promise of fulfillment, and that a vision of the future opens up before us.”

Pope Francis
From Lumen Fidei (2013),
the first encyclical of his pontificate
